Treatment Approaches
In my practice, I utilize several evidence-based approaches, including Adlerian psychotherapy, IFS, psychodynamic, and mindfulness techniques, all of which are tailored to your unique needs and goals.
Adlerian psychotherapy focuses on the importance of early childhood experiences and their impact on current patterns of behavior. This approach emphasizes the importance of developing a sense of purpose and meaning in life, while also focusing on the strengths and resources that you already possess.
Psychodynamic therapy is a more exploratory approach that seeks to uncover unconscious patterns and conflicts that may be contributing to your difficulties. By exploring these deeper issues, we can develop a greater sense of self-awareness and a stronger sense of personal agency.
IFS, or Internal Family Systems therapy, helps you understand and integrate different “parts” of yourself that may hold conflicting emotions, beliefs, or behaviors. By developing a compassionate relationship with these inner parts, you can reduce internal conflict, heal emotional wounds, and strengthen your core sense of Self.
NARM, or the NeuroAffective Relational Model, focuses on healing complex and developmental trauma by exploring patterns of disconnection that form early in life. It emphasizes both the regulation of the nervous system and the exploration of identity and connection, helping you to move from survival-based patterns toward greater authenticity, aliveness, and self-compassion.
EMDR, or Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, is a therapy method where clients recall traumatic events while moving their eyes or receiving other forms of rhythmic stimulation. This process helps reduce the emotional distress linked to those memories, easing symptoms like flashbacks and anxiety often associated with PTSD, aiming to promote healing and improve overall well-being.
Clinical hypnosis is a focused and relaxed state of awareness that allows access to the subconscious mind, where core beliefs and emotional patterns reside. In this state, you remain in control while working with guided imagery and suggestion to reduce anxiety, manage pain, release unhelpful habits, and strengthen positive inner resources. Hypnosis can help integrate insight with deeper emotional change, supporting relaxation, resilience, and self-trust.
Mindfulness techniques can be used across all of these approaches, helping you to develop greater self-awareness and focus, and to cultivate a greater sense of calm and balance in your life. I teach meditation and breathing exercises that can be used to improve sleep, decrease anxiety, and promote wellness. Mindfulness techniques can help you to become more accepting of your thoughts and feelings, and to develop greater present-moment awareness.
CBT, or cognitive-behavioral therapy, is a practical and goal-oriented approach that works by identifying and challenging negative patterns of thinking and behavior that may be contributing to your difficulties. With CBT, we will work together to develop new strategies and coping skills to help you achieve your goals.
Through the use of these approaches, I strive to create a safe and supportive environment where you can explore your thoughts and feelings, and work towards positive change. I believe that building a strong therapeutic alliance is key to making progress in therapy, and I will work with you to establish a relationship based on trust, respect, and collaboration.
Together we will work towards your goals, whether that is to reduce symptoms of anxiety or depression, improve relationships, or develop greater self-awareness and personal growth. I am dedicated to helping you achieve your goals, and I look forward to working with you.
